"Embrace discomfort as your compass to success; it's where preparation meets opportunity, and you're next in line for your breakthrough." - Dr. Melvin Futrell
Hello Friend, I am Dr. Melvin Futrell, the founder of the Winner's Way With Dr. Futrell. on Facebook. I hope you're having a phenomenal day. Today, I would like to share a few words with you that I believe will greatly assist you on your journey to success.
Let me start by asking you a question. Are you ready to go to the next level? Do you feel like there's more in your life that you should be doing? Are you unsatisfied with mediocrity or the status quo? If that's you, I want to encourage you today. I believe your journey to the next level starts here. You see, in order to progress and move forward, you have to learn to be comfortable with being uncomfortable.
This might sound a little crazy, but it's true. Whether you're a speaker or a teacher who's afraid to go on Facebook or get on the mic and talk, you must learn to be comfortable, even when it feels uncomfortable. It may be very uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort is preparing you for your next level.
Perhaps you're in a room right now with people who seem to be far ahead of you. They have bigger ideas, a bigger vision, and it may be very uncomfortable, but I want to encourage you today to get comfortable in that place. You are being prepared for your next level. You are being prepared for greater things.
Even if you're not the most intelligent person in the room, understand that our relationships play a significant role in determining our level of success. God places us in the company of individuals who are more accomplished, faster, and greater than us because that is the direction we are headed. Moreover, consider that we give birth to what we see. God will put you around things that may seem bigger than you, out of your reach, but he knows that we give birth to what we see.
So, get comfortable being uncomfortable. You might be in a place right now where you feel lonely, but get comfortable because that place of loneliness is where God prepares you for your next assignment. He wants to bless you and increase you. So, it's crucial that you get comfortable being uncomfortable. You might not be comfortable with the process, but at least be comfortable with your vision, with your purpose.
I have been there. I knew I was called to be a speaker, a pastor, and a leader, but I wasn't comfortable talking with people. It was uncomfortable at first, but that discomfort prepared me for where I was going. So, you might not be comfortable with the process, but get comfortable with the fact that you are being prepared for your next.
Let me say that again. You are on your way to the next level, so you must get comfortable being uncomfortable. When I think about this, I recall a couple of years ago when my wife and I went on a trip to Sint Maarten. It was a beautiful place, and we had a great time until we got ready to return home.
The airport in Sint Maarten was unlike the ones in America. We had to wait in long lines, and it was hot. It was very uncomfortable. But then I heard the Lord speak to me, "Melvin, you have to learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable sometimes in order to get to where you're going." And just a few seconds later, I heard someone say "next." I want to tell you today that you're next. You're next in line for a breakthrough, for a breakout blessing.
But to get there, you have to learn to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations. After we went through that process, we got on that plane. And guess what happened? We took off, and I'm here today to inform you that you are also preparing to take off. Your ministry, your business, and your career are getting ready to take off, but you must learn to be comfortable being uncomfortable. I hope you take this piece of advice to heart and let it guide you through your journey to the next level.
